About The Breed – Surti
This white goat is distributed in Surat and Baroda. Surti derives its name from its origin in the city of Surat, Gujrat. This breed can be maintained well in stall feeding as it cannot walk long distances.
Surti is reared for milk as it has a high milk yielding capacity.
The weight of a buck is approx. 30 kg and that of a doe is 32 kg. Both the buck and doe have small horns pointing backwards. They can produce about 1.2 kg of milk daily.
